RSS (Really Simple Syndication) sitemap is a standardized format used for distributing and updating content on a website. It’s not exactly a traditional sitemap like an XML sitemap, but it serves a similar purpose.

The WordPress RSS sitemap is a dynamically generated file that contains a list of your website’s most recent articles, blog posts, or other content. It includes essential information such as the title, publication date, and a brief summary of each item.

The primary function of an RSS feed is to make your website’s content easily accessible to users and other services, like news aggregators or email subscriptions. Visitors can subscribe to your RSS feed to receive automatic updates whenever new content is published.

Why add WordPress RSS Sitemap to Google Search Console?

There are many reasons to add WordPress RSS Sitemap to Google Search Console. So let’s discuss the benefits.

WordPress RSS Sitemap helps search engines like Google to discover and index your content more efficiently. Without a sitemap, Google may still index your content, but it might take longer and could miss some pages.

If your site has an RSS Sitemap, you can see which keywords are driving traffic, which pages are most popular, and how your site performs in search results.
